AIR POLLUTION PICTURE

December 14th 2007 -

There are many pictures available for viewing about air pollution and its effects. These pictures, movies, videos, and clips allow the viewer to see the effects of air pollution from a somewhat different perspective. The picture of air pollution is a dim one; causing the ozone layer to wither away and the large caps of ice to melt at an alarming rate. Air pollution is also an underlying cause for several health conditions developed by otherwise healthy individuals. Conditions such as emphysema are caused by pollutants in the air that the individual breathes in. Often, these pollutants are nicotine related, however, breathing in heavily polluted air over a period of time can also cause this respiratory disease. Many just do not see the big picture of air pollution. By attempting to control pollutants in the air, we can save not only the Earth but the inhabitants of it as well.

Pictures of air pollution often show factories with billowing smoke stacks continuously emitting large and looming black clouds of smoke into the air. However, there are several other photos that can also depict the air pollution on the Earth. Those photos are of individuals wearing oxygen masks or a nasal canula attached to a small oxygen tank; these photos can also depict the information sent from satellite cameras that point out patches of depletion in the atmosphere. Many movies have been made in reference to air pollution which is often bundled with the effects of global warming. These movies attempt to make the public more aware of the impact that pollution of the air has on our planet. Such movies as “An Inconvenient Truth” crack open the realities of global warming and air pollution to serve the viewer with a better understanding of what can be expected if we continue to turn our heads to the situation at hand.
